Powell River Greenways Society: November 2008

The purposes of the society are:

{Established in September 1992 by people meeting as the Powell River Greenways Committee since 1990}
1. To develop Greenways trails and loops from Saltery Bay to Lund,
2. To establish a safe transportation corridor for bicyclers, walkers and hikers, people in wheelchairs and other compatible users (excluding horses and motor vehicles except motorised wheelchairs), from Lund to Saltery Bay,
3. To link the core Greenways trail with similar trails on Vancouver Island and the Sechelt Peninsula,
4. To encourage community, public and user group-participation in the development and maintenance of the Greenways,
5. To promote and coordinate local and regional initiatives for fundraising, trailbuilding and maintenance,
6. To encourage Greenways-related recreation, tourism and economic developments.
